Found my first National Lottery Ticket

I've been going through some keepsakes and stumbled across my first Lottery Ticket. It actually happens to be for the first ever Camelot National Lottery draw on November 19th 1994.

I remember buying this like it was yesterday (even though it wasn't haha). 16 years old and I'd finished work for the day, assisting in making false teeth. I think it may have been a Thursday night. This Lottery thing was brand new and I wanted to have a go on this new game and become a millionaire overnight.

I walked to the Texaco garage on Blackburn Road, Bolton (now replaced with Sharples Service Station). It was a dark evening - well being November I guess so 🤣. Across the road I went into the garage and bought my first ever ticket (and certainly not my last). I got with it a magnetic holder to clip my ticket to the fridge. I'm not sure if I had to buy it or whether it was free? It was a very long time ago. I still have it somewhere, so if I find it I'll put it on here.

There were a couple of women who worked at the dental lab, and the next day we discussed winning the Lottery.

Saturday arrived and I'd gone away hiking for the weekend with the Venture Scouts and I missed the televised show, but at that time it was also broadcast on the radio so we heard the first draw in the kitchen of the barn that we stayed in. I didn't win, obviously. The winning numbers are below if you are interested? 👍

To this day I'm still not a millionaire. I guess there is time yet 🤣🤣
